We create our art by combining unconventional techniques with ancient materials into something refreshingly new… jewelry that proclaims you are different. Our customers tend to be unconventional. We can certainly relate to that! Make the trend, don’t follow it. We are antiquarians and respect the past; however, we are also artists… “extreme” jewelers who bring into being what has never gone before. Our personalities are infused into what we create… unconventional art for unconventional people who would prefer not to wear mass-produced nonsense “because everyone else does”.

The Ancient Link collects authentic ancient beads, shards and coins as the focal points for our original handmade jewelry designs. These were all legally obtained from reputable antiquities dealers. Each ancient gem carries with it the love and affection of everyone who ever owned it. Just think… centuries ago, these beads and baubles often were a statement of love. Some things never change. Once upon a time, all jewelry was created one piece at a time, by hand. We think that is a tradition worth upholding and lovingly create the heirlooms of the future from the relics of the past. We not buy mass-produced fittings to assemble into cookie-cutter designs. Instead, we wonder what would happen when non-traditional techniques are applied to the creation of jewelry. Often our best designs begin with the question “What if…?”

To introduce a new special product line, we are offering a special introductory price! For a limited time, it can be yours for $29, which is a significant savings compared to the regular price of $49! Suitable for men and women, this copper pendant has been patterned and fire-patinated. The centerpiece is an ancient (1,000 A.D.) Native American pottery shard. Specifically, it is attributable to the Anasazi who populated the area now known as New Mexico, where these shards were legally collected. It is permanently fastened to the pendant with ball-prong mounts. Additionally, the shard has been carefully cleaned and received coats of micro-crystalline wax to enhance the appearance and also to protect it. This wax is regularly used by museums for curatorial purposes. The pendant measures 1 ½” x 1” and is supplied with an adjustable black satin cord, which passes through the soldered bale. It comes in a slip-cased, black and silver presentation box.

What We Do...

All jewelry designed by The Ancient Link maintains the original owner’s intent and extensive provenance is provided with each piece where possible. Please note, due to the availability of the unique materials employed in our collection, all designs should be considered limited editions. Furthermore, because of the ancient hand-made “technology” utilized to originally create the beads and charms in antiquity and employed in The Ancient Link’s jewelry, there will be slight variations in size and shape between each set and even within a single piece. Please remember, these jewels were manufactured long before the advent of modern machinery and therefore do not display modern faceting, nor are they dyed for perfect color. Additionally, many of the beads and stones display imperfections as they did when they were first created centuries ago. We feel the unique nature of each “jewel” employed contributes to the overall beauty of the finished work.
